We're all just lichen (2024 - )
I became interested in bioremediation while working with Asad Raza during his Field Commission Reabsorption with Grand Union Gallery and Cooking Sections. My role was to explore mycoremediation (using fungi to remove pollutants and increase biodiversity). I became interested in using plants to clean-up pollution (phytoremediation) and since I had been experimenting with growing trees hydroponically since 2019, I began researching whether trees could remediate freshwater environments.
The first prototype was launched summer 2024 at Junction Works, Digbeth, anchored to the floating garden that forms part of Grand Union's Growing Project.
